I was wondering if ganache could be used for dipping. I have never dipped any and i was wondering what you use.

I do hope you will try the Sarah Bernhardt chocolate glaze sometime. It is wonderful poured as a glaze something like ganache, or allowed to set till the consistency of canned icing and then applied with an icing spatula. But I also really liked doing the strawberries this way because the chocolate doesn't break or shatter the way regular set chocolate does, it sets up but is still creamy to bite into.

I also found when I had just a very small amount of SB glaze left over that if you warm it just slightly in the microwave and pour it over vanilla ice cream it sets up immediately like the chocolate shell syrup made by Hershey's. YUM!

I just did some for the first time and was just looking for something easy. I used the wilton candy melts and they were very easy to use. I know there are other things that probably taste a little better like shirley mentioned, but it was super easy. I am pretty snobby about chocolate, but they tasted pretty good to me. They are in my photos!

I use a 50/50 mix of Merckens Cocoa Light and Cocoa Dark melts. They melt so smooth, and they really taste great with the strawberries.

I made mine with the Nestle melting bar and it was so good....I like that the chocolate stuck to the strawberry even after it 'broke' and I was thinking you could add a touch of cream after it comes off the burner if you wanted a less 'brittle' chocolate effect.

Thanks everyone! Shirley- that recipe sounds delish. I will have to try that one. I am not too crazy about chocolate that cracks and falls everywhere when you bite into it. This one sounds divine!
