I just decided to make Toba Garrett's chocolate cake recipe for a cake I'm delivering tomorrow...and it smelled SOOO good, I just did the worst thing...I used a mellon baller to take 1 little ball out so I could taste it.
I couldnt resist--and it was worth it!!! Now I'll just fill the little hole with a lilttle bit of extra icing...everybody wins, right!??!

Anybody else ever do something like this? I just kept thinking about the Cosby Show episode when Bill Cosby cuts a huge hole in the center of a chocolate cake, eats that part, and then fills it with paper towels and frosts over it...
I really dislike torting cakes, but I've been making myself practice so I can get better at it.
As a reward to myself, I make the little slit on the side of the cake slightly larger than necessary so I can eat it 
hahaha then my mom walked in, asked about the little hole in the cake... and then insisted I also give her a taste.
Good thing this cake is going to a family friend...I almost thought about calling her and telling her I would knock a couple dollars off if she saves me a big piece!
