hiya cyriaca,
welcome to cc.
well you can use buttercream (bc). The ingredients shouldn't be a prob where you are. It's confectioners sugar, butter, vegetable shortening, milk or water and flavoring. Those should be easy enough to find in norway. You can probably get other things that we in the states can't get.
But good luck. And above all Have Fun!!!

If you have Oreos there, or some other type of chocolate sandwich cookie, I personally think those are great crushed up in buttercream as a filling. HTH! thumbs_up.gif

Don't be so sure..... shortening as you guys know it is no where to be found here in Australia and I am sure we are not the only place. We have other products but nothing as a direct comparison.

Well, dky hun, I stand corrected. O well,
I do know in mexico, they don't have crisco per se, (they might now because of all the "american" stores opening there), but they do have lard. or hydrogenated coconut oil. I don't know about the coconut oil but the lard is what was used exclusively back in the day. In fact I still have recipes from my grandma that called for lard and not shortening.

we do have a coconut oil based shortening called COPHA which I believe some people use... I use it to make chocolate crackles and I guess it could be used but I would imagine it would leave a little oil taste/residue in your mouth afterwards... but we can try. thumbs_up.gif
