#1 Has anyone ever melted the Crisco and then mixed all the ingredients together? I'm thinking this would make it easier but I'm not sure if it will work.

#2 Do you have any other tricks for blending the ingredients?

I think they blend just fine. I put it in a small food processor, but next time will do it in my blender which is bigger. It's really easy. Give it a try!

I mix 1 part flour, 1 part crisco, 2 parts oil in a small bowl with my hand mixer and it turns out just fine. I just whip it back up with a fork when I go to use it since it does separate while it sits in the cupboard.

I love it! I made it for the first time last week and it works like a charm. The only draw back? It is a tad bit on the thick side so you might want to add a little more oil until you get it to the right consistency. I just mixed mine in a bowl with a hand mixer.

I use equal parts flour, shortening, and vegetable oil and my cakes always just fall right out of the pan!

I tried it for the first time a couple of weeks ago. LOVE IT! How long does it last on the shelf?
