I am a little confused, what is the difference between crusting and just regular buttercream? Which do you use for wedding cakes? And, last question, I promise, what recipe is your favorite? Thanks in advance. icon_biggrin.gif

I personally have been using the Crusting Butter Cream Faux Fondant recipe on this website. My friends and family love it. It crusts nicely but stays soft when eaten. The flavor is not too sweet. Not greasy at all. Light and fluffy actually. I use 1 cup Crisco with 1/2 butter versus all Crisco when I make it for bday cakes and all Crisco for white for weddings.
