Well I have volunteered to do yet another free cake icon_razz.gif lol. It is for a baby shower (boy) for a young girl from church. I am happy to do it, and had a very nice cake sketched out with fondant bow & accents, chocolate transfer duckies, two tiers... but I got to thinking this is a little much. I barely know the girl, after all, and since this is all coming out of my pocket maybe I should keep it more simple. The lady in charge of the shower just told me she is doing a Precious Moments theme. Does anyone have any ideas that are simple yet still cute & special? TIA!

Maybe just do a sheet cake and have her provide a figurine for the top. or you could purchase it as your gift. Although, your cake alone should be her gift especially since you don't know her well.

Someone else awhile back was making Precious Moment fondant figurines. The only problem she was having was making the colors soft enough. Precious Moment figures have very delicate shading. So be careful, colors darken as they stand.

Thanks ladies. I believe I will do a FBCT, maybe on a square cake. Thanks for the links to Precious Moments coloring pages, that will save me a lot of time!

it's the alphabet with the characters on it so maybe you can spell out baby or something to that. They are pretty cute!

I had done a Precious Moments chocolate transfer for a baby shower cake (in my pictures) and it was pretty easy and turned out nicely. I agree with everyone else, that would be a good thing and not too time consuming.
