Does anyone have any advice for me? This wil be my first attempt at a FBCT and I need it to work THE FIRST TIME. Any tips that might help me? I'm a little worried about my pic's, they have black motion lines on them, should I not outline those, or do I and then pipe icing around those? Thanks for any help. Edited to try to get attention so that it would get post.
How do you keep condensation from setting up?
misty-- I should be able to answer your questions.
I outline everything on the picture in black and then start filling in.
Try to not have your icing to thick because of the "wormy" effect it will cause.
there is a tutorial that will help

misty hun,
calm down. breathe. NEW will help you. Hope that you get everything ok!
Don't panic.
You'll be fine!!! and your fbct will turn out wonderful.
You shouldn't have any probs with the motion lines. Just go ahead and put your frosting on them and because the paper acts as your backing (waxpaper, parchment paper, etc.) the lines will stay put, and when you flip the image they will be in the right place or you can just add them later after you flip the image. Just remember, hun the most important thing is to HAVE FUN!!!
Do you have any specific questions that I or anyone else could answer for you?
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I was feeling abandoned there for a short period of time. What about the condensation? How do I keep that from happening? I read on one of the pictures of a monkey on a FBCT that the condensation sat up, and it was very noticable, how do I keep this from happening?
I have done a few FBCT some are in my photos, I have never had a problem with condensation on a FBCT.
Be sure to follow the instructions and leave it in the freezer until well frozen. I think the instructions say 90 min. Pull it out and turn it over on the cake ASAP and gently start at one corner of the wax paper and pull it off. Then I use a 12 tip and fill in around the area of the FBCT and the cake, so you don't have the noticable height of the transfer. Then walk away! If you do get some condensation my suggestion is don't touch it. It will go away on its own. You will probably smear and smudge it if you try to fix it.
One more tip I have for you is to LIGHTLY smear some crisco on your paper before you begin. It will help keep the transfer from sticking.
Any help on the condensation, or should I say, the lack of condensation?
Don't fret the small stuff. I have never had it happen and I have done several. You know what Nike says "Just do it" You will do great. I checked out your photos and I know new stuff is scary but I know you can do this your other photos are great! And I want to see a pic of this one too!
Will do. Thanks for the pep talk. Here we go!
Ok Misty, was the pic of the monkey cake I just saw in the gallery the one you were working on here? You did a fantastic job! I knew you could do it!
I have to ask--Did you have any condensation problems?
I have two FBCT in the freezer now I will post pics later.
