I have found a fantastic photo of a shoe box cake that I want to attempt for a friend's 40th birthday next month. Has anyone attempted one of these before? If so how did you do it and do you have any advice/patterns for the shoe?

If you PM MrsMissey she has a shoe pattern, that I'm sure she would share with you. I think that cake is very cute. I also wonder what size pans etc. to make the boxes. I guess it is time to experiment.

I've never done a cake like this but I wonder if you could use different size loaf pans and then square off the ends for the boxes. I love this cake!!
