Has anyone ever made a cake for a little girl's spa day?

We have a party place here that caters to girls. Birthday girl is having a spa party, and was wanting a cake that looks like a face getting a facial.

Here is my idea or two...using an oval pan, make a face covered with cream, cucumbers over the eyes and a fondant towel wrap over the hair.

Or can anyone think of how to do one 3D style? Any thoughts are appreciated...it's due Friday, so I will have to start on Wednesday (tomorrow). TIA

Ohhh that sounds so FUN! I have a Power Rangers "bust" in my photos that seems like it would work for any "bust" and just decorate it as desired... it uses a ball pan for the head and a couple of 8" layers cut to shape for the bust. I used a small board under the ball cake and then a couple of sharpened dowels down all the way through the cake and into a thick board to support it. That cake sounds so FUN!

The only thing you'd have to watch is how much weight the "towel wrap" would add to the head....you could build a very simple inner support but not sure if you'd want to get into something like that.

Thanks kitagrl and dadams--

I tried looking for a spa day cake in the gallery but it wasn't responding so I gave up.

Perfect. I knew you guys would come thru for me. I just get too impatient if the pics don't load right away.

Thanks again--Pam

Thanks everybody--
The cake came out great. Kitagrl, one day I will do a 3D one but mom was picking up the cake and I hate for someone else to be responsible for getting 3D cakes to the party in 1 piece so I opted for a 1/4 sheet cake.
