Wilton's is actually good for practice... just not for eating. I like Satin Ice for taste. I've read threads where people talk of cakes the made in the classes using MMF. Maybe you could try that.

i'm not in 3 yet, another week to go , but when I talked to my instructor about it she said that mmf was fine and I have worked with that before.

Just knead and knead and knead!!! My arms were sore for a day or so after I made my first batch! That part wasn't fun but playing with it was....just not the mixing part!!! LOL!

I agree with khoudek. Wilton Fondant is actually one of the best to practice with because it has a great working consistency. I tell my students to work with it first to get a feel for what a "good" fondant should feel like. But will tell them about the MMF recipe and where to look for other recipes for ones that taste better. For their final cake in CIII, they can use whatever they want.

What is "PS"? I am dying to know, because the MM Fondant I make has marshmallows, confenctioner's sugar and shortening. Nothing with initials "PS".
