I am very new to cake decorated, but already obsessed!! icon_smile.gif Can someone give me advice on how to stack the tiered cakes. I understand about the dowels, just wondering how you place each tier on top of eachother without ruining the tier below. Did that make sense? Thank you all for your expert advice!

Welcome to CC!!

There is lots and lots of information in the forums on this topic. Take some time and search thru and read. Then when that gives you lots of questions-post away!! icon_lol.gif There is alot you need to know and understand about proper construction so your creation stays just as beautiful as when you put it together and that's why I point you in the direction of searching the forums.
But to answer you first question-before you place the next tier on top of the bottom tier put a bit of powdered sugar in the area and when the tier is removed the icing will stay on the cake instead of the cake board that was above it! Or are you asking about getting your fingers out of the way? To do that I push the dowels in all the way and then pull them back up just a little then set the tier down (this gives my fingers just enough room) and then the weight of the cake will push the dowels back down. icon_smile.gif
