Anyone ever seen or have any ideas on how to do a 3D harp??

I've got a tough assignment. A St. Patrick's Day cake for an Irish priest who plays the harp. Something pretty, not cutesy. No green beer, no leprecauns, no pots of gold. Shamrocks OK.

I'm not wed to the idea of a 3D harp. Any and all suggestions welcome!!

Hmmm I got ideas running through my mind but I'm not really sure. I'm thinking a base cake (round or square) with the harp on top. Maybe you can create the harp using rice krispy and marshmallows (which I haven't really tried icon_lol.gif ) wrapped in fondant. For the strings...hmmm now that's where I get lost.

Anyways, here's a bump for you. The experts could prolly help you icon_smile.gif

BTW, I looked at your photos and you do excellent work. I don't see why you can't do this. If you believe in yourself, anything is possible! thumbs_up.gif

Thank you, that's very nice of you!

I was thinking of trying to do one in royal icing, letting it dry and then spraying it gold.

i agree with the cake base and rice crispy treats for a harp. For string you could use licorice strings. The only problem with those being that they are a little on the thick side for harp strings
