Our home school group is having a geography fair and I need ideas for the cake. We have 80-100 people coming and 33 countries represented. I have browsed the galleries but wanted to pick brains too. TIA

Maybe a globe? Topographical map?

I had a similar situation and yep, opted for the globe - I added the flags of all countries involved, held by a little figure in school dress code, around the base. Sorry, no photo though. Good luck.

Sure, use the sport ball pan for your globe and you can put that on top of a sheet cake if necessary. Cover it in blue fondant with green "continents" as it were.

Thanks for the tips on the globe. I was wondering how to frost. Any ideas how to display, will it roll?

You can set it up with the two halfs meeting horizontally, like the equator, and drive a dowel through them into the cake below and into the cake board for stability.

I agree with most, ball pans into a globe. Giant compass maybe. Passport with different country stamps. If you do a sheet, then just fbct an atlas page. Of course, a layered could also look neat with fondant oceans, continents, sail boat, airplanes, etc along the outside. Good luck.
