Extender..is It Self Rising Or All Purpose Flour?

In the extender recipe is it self rising flour or all purpose? I also have cake flour..which should I use?

I use the cake extender recipe all the time and use all-purpose. Everyone loves it and it seems to rise beautifully.

i use all purpose. i think one of the points of the extender recipe is to make a more dense cake out of a mix to enable it to hold up to carving, stacking or fondant. if you used self rising, i assume that would add more of a rising agent, and it would negate the purpose of the extender.
