i want to make this cake for a baby shower. However, it is floating shower so I think cupcakes would be better. I would still like to make this but a lot smaller for the mother and father. any ideas for the size of pans to use?


this cake was made by boween. this is how she done it 1/2 sheet cut in 1/2 then stacked, 8" round cut in 1/2. for the hood

You could make a square cupcake cake for the bottom part, and make the bassinette top out of fondant or sugar paste--that way you could have it as a centerpiece at the shower, and have your cupcakes, too hat1.gif

Maybe cut down a half sheet until it looks good with a half of 6 in round?

That would be my only suggestion. Maybe cut it out of cardboard to find the right proportions and go from there.

i think you could try the mini loaf pan and maybe a small round can or the mini round pans if you have them?? just an ideal. good luck!! let us know what you come up with !

There are directions in one of the Wilton YBs that shows this cake made using the stand-up lamb pan.

Would this work...

Take an 8" square cut down to 6"W x 8"L and use 6" round for the top?

How about a 1/4 sheet (9x13) cut in half and stacked 6 1/2 x 9 inch with a 6 inch half round for the top.
