has anyone done a cake on Fairytopia theme?

I am looking for some inspiration! My daughter's 8th birthday is coming up and this is what she wants.

I want to do it with Fondant....

Can some of you share your fairy cakes?

Thanks!

My daughter is also turning 8 next week and I was trying to think of something along the Fairytopia theme too....short of doing the barbie I am out of ideas and since I have already made a barbie cake for her in the past I really dont want to do one again. So...I am not much help but will bump up the topic again and see if anyone else has an idea!!

I didn't know what Fairytopia was, so I googled it for some ideas. I found this page with a bunch of different pictures of it, http://toys.about.com/bl_barbiefairytopia1.htm.

I found this picture:

You could maybe replicate this, have a base cake, then stacked rounds to make the stem of the flower, and fondant petals.

You could make a Bibble cake, either carved or using the stand up bear pan:

You could make an enchantress cake, the wings could be made of royal icing:

Here is a cake I found from google images: Image

Hope this helps a little!

Wow, thanks for the beautiful pics! My daughter has the movie and I was watching to get ideas to make the meadow where the fairies live!

I like especially the one on the bottom with that opened flower cake topper.

If I can't find it here at the local bakery supermarkets, I am going to make it out of fondant. I can make a round 6 inch cake a 2inch and then make the petals out of fondant and find a way to stick then into the cake.

Thanks again. Great ideas all!

You can make a sheet cake with fairytopia decorations on top (just let your imagination run). You can purchase the "Fairytopia Little Lands Peony Flower House" or "Barbie Fairytopia: Mermaid Merferies Coral Cabana Play Set" and set it on top of the sheet cake or you can make a 2 tier or 3 tier and set the toys on different tiers. You can make (for the flower house) the cake with grass and a pond or if making the Coral Cabana make the cake look like a beach with sea shells around it. This way the toys are part of her gift as well.

Maria,
I used the open flower toy on a sheetcake I just did and it is really cute. Did you look online for a store that carries it. It is a DecoPac piece. I know there are a few online stores that carry DecoPac but if you can't find it anywhere, I would be happy to get one from the cake shop I got mine from and send it to you. Or you might even be able to call her and have it sent right from the store. The piece is $7.99. PM me if you'd like her number or if you'd like me to send you one. It would look really cute on top of a tiered cake!

Thank you, Heather and Dilcia.

I will try to find the cake topper locally... otherwise I was thinking of making the flower myself.

If shouldn't be too hard, I hope. I can make the petals with fondant and the center with a round 6 inch cake. I would like to make it only with one petal opened and then she sitting at the "entrance" of her flower home.

The colors on this theme are so pretty I can't wait to do it. I will also make a small river running thru it too...

Thanks again, everyone!

Here is a link to that cake kit that you want from eBay. It is a Buy it now and will cost $8 which includes the shipping. Might be an option if you still can't find it anywhere local.

There were several other auctions too.

Hope that helps!

Her is a picture of a cake I did for my daughter bday last year, the party was a Fairy theme. I used one of the pixie fairies for the topper. The flower petals were made out of celiphane and floral wire.

PS - couldn'e get the picture to attatch, so I will add another post with the link as soon as possible.
