I am doing a western theme denim cake in june... any ideas on how to get a cool effect to look like blue denim? It will be fondant.... I am wanting it to look textured like real blue jeans but not sure how to acheive the effect.. also, what color blue would you guys recommend?

I'd maybe use a textured paper towel, and for the blue - i'm not sure what shade, but i'd probably not mix it through entirely (or i might mix through one color, and then streak through another color) to layer the colors. Hope that helps.

that is going to be such a cute cake. I really like this cake here http://www.cakecentral.com/cake-photo-28811.html and it looks like they used a paper towel to get the texture.

If it is Fondant, maybe a lose cheese cloth or the drawer liner foam rolled with a rolling pin would give you a demin cloth effect..
