I'm making a cream cheese buttercream filling. First, does anyone have a good recipe they'd like to share? Second, will the cake have to be refrigerated because of the filling?

Thanks! icon_smile.gif

Sorry...I don't have a cream cheese bc filling I use. I make my cream cheese frosting/filling using this recipe. It's wonderful.

You could sub the splenda with powdered sugar to taste.

Yes, if the filling/icing contains cream cheese, it would need to be refrigerated. If you need one that doesn't require refrigeration, you could use cream cheese flavoring instead of actual cream cheese or buy Handy Pac cream cheese frosting which also doesn't require refrigeration.

Thanks so much for your reply! Where can I buy cream cheese flavoring, or Handy Pac? I haven't seen either before. Thanks!!

You should be able to find them at a cake deco/supply shop like www.sugarcraft.com

I recently used the diabetic cream cheese icing - it was wonderful! I have seen posts on here where people say they prefer it over any other cream cheese frosting! It really is that good thumbs_up.gif
