Hi
My brother in law is turning 40 and his wife wants a round cake with a baseball theme. She's pretty sure she wants a baseball diamond and/or a baseball on the cake. She requested a round cake and she said there will be about 100 people there but thinks she only has to order a cake for 50?? So my two questions:
1. Why does she think she needs a cake for 50 if there will be 100 people there?
2. IF I do make the cake for 100 people, what size round would I make? Would I have to do a stacked cake or have a sheet in the back?
thanks in advance.
OK so I now understand about making a cake for 50. You're right most people probably wont end up eating the cake.
So of course I now have another question; what size round pan should I use for the cake? The cake will be torted with a filling (not sure what yet). I do still want to make sure there is enough just in case more than 50 people eat it. Does that make sense??? I want to do a good job on this one since most of the guests have kids and have asked my sister in law about my cakes. I'm hoping for some possible business. ![]()
Thanks in advance.
you need at least 12", better yet 14" round
I use Earlene's serving guide:
