Okay - They're Not Sticking.

The rice krispies are sticking to themselves well, but not to the PVC. I tried the cornsyrup, any other ideas?

Duff Goldman had this problem also with a cake he was trying to do.They ended up peeling it all off and usung straight fondant in clumps.
ok how about you wrap them in saran until they are cooled in shape? then they will cling to each other in the shape you molded them. I did this when i was making arms for my rabbit cake, i mouled them around a straw and wrapped them in saran and stuck them in the freezer. (wound up not using them afterall because once they were covered in fondant they looked too much like male genetalia!) But anyway that technique worked for me.
YEah, I figured that out. Still not sticking great, but wrapping htem in plastic wrap until they're set is great.

Nope. I wrapped them in rice krispies, than in plastic wrap and froze them, when they came out they looked like they were going to stay, but...
As soon as they warmed up they weren't working.
I'm putting that project on hold until I have more money to figure out a way to make it work.

oh man, guess putting the fondant on wouldnt wrok either then. When i did it they held but i did put the fondant on them while still cold. but they looked so funny i let the kids eat them right after that and wound up using lil wads of fondant for the paws.
Have you heard anything from Duff?
Someone told me (at work she's the cake decorator) that what she uses to do something like that is marshmallow creme..she puts it on the surface that she wants to cover and tries to make her treats thinner then most and does it.... maybe that will work? I'm sorry if that doesn't help....
Nope, haven't heard from Duff yet, but I put the project on the backburner until finances are such that I can figure it out better.
We're officially moving now so I am going to have to put everything on the back burner.
