Please, I need your help. I need to know which buttercream recipe I should use on a marble cake with white chocolate filling? It is for a 4 year old's birthday.

I have only used the Wilton buttercream and am not very happy with it.
I would like to use a buttercream with butter in it, but need a recommendation on a recipe please.

Thank-you

I find that kids like the taste of Martha Stewart's Swiss Meringue buttercream a lot. It is really creamy like whipped cream. You can find the recipe on her website.

Go to the recipe section and the the Butter Cream for Decorators. It's Lisa's recipe and I really liked it. It's very smooth and ices beautifully. It uses butter and shortening.

You could also take your Wilton recipe and substitute half of the shortening with butter. My stand-by recipe is 1 cup shortening, 1 cup butter, 2 lbs powdered sugar, vanilla to taste and a dash of butter flavouring. Use milk in place of water and you are good to go. Cream is also very nice, super creamy results.
