i am doing a thomas the train cake, i have no access to the wilton cake pan and have not sculpted many cakes. i'd like to know what size of cakes to use to sculpt thomas the train. i've seen many well done cakes in the gallery, i just need a little direction.

I did Thomas cake for my little boys party and I did have teh wilton pan but I found it just as easy to free hand thomas on a 1/2 sheet cake. I used black to do the outline then filled in. There are alot of great Thomas cakes on this site...good luck!!
