I am using the metal single petal cutters and the Nicholas lodge recipe.

When I am making roses they always end up being very tight looking. The petals are not falling outward like the ones I see.

So my question sis this...how do you get the small spaces between the petals? Is there a certain way to apply them?

Also, i have been using claer vanilla to attach them...sghould I use something else?

thanks

julia

I attach mine with egg white. Wen you get to the 4th and 5th layers of petals, after you thin and vein them and slightly ruffle them, flip them over before attaching so the more naturally fall "open" and you also can play with them a bit to open them up.

You could also try 'pinching' the center of the outer petals just a bit. I'm not sure how to describe it, but I'll try to post a picture later today.

I'm sure someone else on here will be able to explain it better, though.

I just attach my petals with water. The " pinching " of the petal - squeeze gently with thumb & index finger to ( can't think of the right word !! )....
crease the middle of the petal a little bit.. icon_confused.gif
man,i hope that makes sense ! ?

I can do it - just not describe it !! icon_lol.gif

I don't pinch (I always end up with a crease) but I do use the needle tool o roll the edges of the petal on each side of center, which gives me a similar result.
