So today we went snow tubing for a Birthday party. Of course I did a the cake! It was for a twin Birthday Party so it was two sided sports and girly themes. I cannot tell you how many times I had people ask "is that a real cake?"
I just want to laugh and say " yes I brought a fake cake to torture the children!
Fake Cake HA! (Competition cakes maybe!)
I can see why they ask it! Your cakes are flawless!
I just hide my flaws very well!
Thanks!
that IS funny! i did my long awaited first wedding yesterday and had several people ask if it was really cake too. amidst all my flaws, i couldnt believe it that people really thought that.
thats too funny, to think someone would entertain the idea of a fake cake for kids.
Think of it this way: If you were not so darn talented they would know it was a cake. You ugot some mad crazy skills girl!!!

Too funny! Thanks! I have some ugly cakes from a few years back!!
My newest cake was that way. Noone could believe they were supposed to EAT her...
DH practically had to tie a rock to me to keep me from floating away
I Love that..."to torture the children". I really laughed out loud! (your cakes are awesome!!)
I had the same thing happen to me at a church Christmas party this last year. Nobody was eatting the cake and I wondered why, so I thought well maybe they are waiting for me to cut it. I went up and started to cut into it and someone suddenly said, "Oh I thought it was a ceramic center peice!!" After that almost everyone else said the same thing! When they finally realized it was cake, some of them said it was a shame to cut it up, it was so cute!
(It's posted in my photos if you want to look at it.... )
So part two!!
I received a call for a stanley cup cake yesterday. For fifty people. Oh and for Friday.
Price quote $100.00----dead silence on the phone....well, she will get back to me---COME ON!!!!!
I got the same thing this last Saturday with my cat cake, took it to Up Chuck E Cheese for DS birthday, loved watching peoples double takes, several people thought it was a stuffed animal (used the "grass" tip), actually broke off a little icing to give them to prove it. Got the "Uh Uh"
Funny.
I would take that as a compliment! Maybe one day I will be there too, a girl can dream. I just spent a ton of time at your website and then bookmarked it because it was so inspirational. You are very talented
