does anybody know how to make a less sweet mmf?

i don't think that it's possible to tell you the truth but here's a bump to see if anyone else has any ideas.

I put about 1 teaspoon of butter flavoring in mine, it mellows the flavor a bit. Other CCers have used other flavors, but I haven't tried too many of them yet.
I wonder if a little salt would work???? icon_confused.gif

Yeah I haven't tried the salt.. iguess they can just peel it off.

i add a heaping teaspoon of salt. it does cut the sweetness *slightly*. however, i have found by accident that adding the salt eliminated any of those white little balls, go figure.

I could have sworn I read somewhere to replace some of the powdered sugar with corn starch. But I've never tried it and I could be remembering wrong. If you happen to try it, let us know if it worked.

I add vanilla to mine and it seems to cut some of the sweetness.

I would try the salt trick or to flavor it w/ vanilla, etc.

what if you added somw flour instead of psugar like in the less sweet buttercream?
