I've bought Orchard Products Patchwork Butterfly cutters for a wedding castle cake I'll be doing in July - they come in about 6 or 7 different sizes, the smallest being about 1/2in. I'll try to find a link for you!

Here you go, I'm sure you can find other suppliers in the US that carry Orchard Products patchwork cutters too that might be cheaper - prehaps someone living on that side of the pond can help you with that - but this is what you're looking for:

https://internationalsugarart.com/cgi-bin/store/shop.cgi?ud=VFA1R0tVNTg2ViUlJSUlJTExNzMwMjU3MDcA&storeid=1&c=detail.htm&itemid=PC293

All you need to do is emboss them onto some gumpaste and cut around the outside, dry in a flower former so that the wings look in flight and voila!

I need these 3d butterfly molds for a cake. Sugarcraft doesn't sell the kind I want and the other place that was mentioned make them themselves and they are costly. So if anyone knows where I can get these 3D butterfly molds, please let me know. thanks

What if you just piped with RI and then put them in a flower form to dry? Then you could make them whatever size you need.

Kathy Scott has buterfly molds. Not sure if they are what you are looking for. If they are close you could contact her she is a super nice person and always willing to help. She has a website and an ebay store. here is a link to her molds on ebay.

I just made my first ones with the cutters I got from GlobalSugarArt.com made by Patchwork Cutters. The only thing I have to say is be careful, once you go on that site, you may wind up spending lots of money! The only item I am returning is a mold from celcakes that had molded lace points and butterflies. I couldn't get the darn things out of the mold because they're so small and delicate. I posted a pic for you of the patchwork cutter butterfly. If its what you want, type in "butterflies" in the search and you'll find these cutters. There are several in frame, with some bees and ladybugs cutters too.

Try Giovanna at www.sugarartstudio.com She doesn't have them listed on her site, but I have one and it's fabulous!!! I know she has at least two different sizes. She's got all sorts of cool things - she taught our cake club to make tulips the other day and they were out of this world!

Good luck!

Ericsmom - that is what I am looking for. I just bought one from Kathy Scott before I saw your reply. Hers are the mini ones. So I will try hers and if I don't like it I will buy yours from Global. Thanks for your help.
