I tried making a gumpaste shoe (as shown in the tutorial) yesterday. Does anyone have any hints on how to attach the toe section so it looks right? My toe had some gaps where it attached to the sole. I used gumpaste glue to attach.

I made a couple of shoes, and keptthe best one icon_redface.gif ...but I rolled my gumpaste a little larger than needed, wet it to attach and trimmed it around the bottom of the sole with the fondant cutter.

My shoe cake is in my pictures.

I make the strap a bit longer than I need - then I roll my 'stitch'cutting wheel over the edges to stick them down, then I trim off the excess. The stitches make it look authentically shoe like as well!
