I wanted to order some luster dusts just to have on hand for flowers, etc. i have super pearl, gold and silver. any input into some good basic colors, i don't want to order too many that i'll never use, and it's so hard to tell where to start. thanks

icon_smile.gif I have mostly, Gold (Super Gold and Aztec Gold), Pearl, Silver, Blue, Orchid (Pink) and Holly Green....

I use mostly Gold, since it is my favorite color... I use Pearl for mostly wedding cakes or when I paint Fondant Lace. Stay with what you have right now, then maybe later get more... icon_smile.gif

Personally I tend to use dusts when ever possible. I love the way they look. The ones I go through the most are Super Pearl, Silver & baby blue.

I get my luster, pearl, petal & pixie dusts from www.cakesbysam.com. They are really reasonably priced. She is the only one I've found so far that sells pixie dust...an edible glitter WAY better than the Wilton stuff.
