Can someone tell me where I could find, Champaign Extract? I cant find it anywhere icon_cry.gif o Theres this cake Sandra Lee made and it calls for the extract. In the directions she say "*Champagne extract is available at most specialty baking and cake decorating stores". I didnt find it at Michaels, and I'm wondering, will a bakery sell it to me icon_redface.gif .

try calling a local cake decorating shop if you have one nearby too.

Also maybe a bulk food shop? I have seen some that carry the Lorann oils.

Spice Barn carries so many flavors in Extracts. I especially like their Butter Pecan.

If it is the same episode of SL's that I am thinking of, she definitely used the Lorann oil, not extract. I do not know why she called extract, as there is a definite difference between the composition and use between the two terms.

Was it the really, really small bottle that looked like this? If so, that is definitely Lorann Oil, and it should be available through any candy supply store. My local AC Moore also carries them, in the candy aisle.

Lorran's champagne flavor is one of my favorites. I use it for my "secret" signature flavor if people don't request something specific. I don't think it really screams "Champagne," but it's a delightful flavor. You can get it in bigger bottles, which are much more economical. I get mine at the local cake shop, but Lorrain also sells on the web. I think. Seems like I've bought from them directly before, at least.

Crimsicle -

How much of the oil do you use per single cake batter? I have several of these flavors, including Champagne, but I have only used them for candy so far. I would love to try them as cake or icing flavoring.

Thanks!

Crimsicle:
I havent tried my local cake shop, but I will. This morning I went EVERYWHERE and no one has it.

playingwithsugar:
Her instructions say "add just a few drops of Champagne extract in the frosting". And I do believe the bottle was tiny like the picture you posted.

I'm in Southern California. I went to Walmart and Ralphs today, Ralphs had everything BUT what I needed icon_sad.gif

Last time I ordered it I got it from amazon.com. Try a specialty cake decorating shop also.
