I am making a cake for an engagement party this week. I am making chocolate icing. I want to decorate and wonder what kind of colors would go best with chocolate icing? I don't want it to look silly. I can't think of a color that compliments the chocolate icing.

How about a pretty Teal color!!!

cream is always a good bet for chocolate icing the contrast makes it look elegant

Pink and brown is a really popular color combo right now. I like brown with robin's egg blue too.

Brown on brown is also nice. There are some wonderful examples in the gallery of chocolate cakes with chocolate borders and roses. Check out the Groom's Cakes in the gallery, there are some really nice ones there.

Edit to add: There is one there by Jenn123 that is just gorgeous, I absolutely love it! Not too masculine or feminine, just really nice!

Any autumn colors--yellow, gold, orange, pumpkin, red.

I decided on going with the autumn colors. I found some gerber daisies that will look beautiful that I am going to add.
