Peachez, I do remember him saying that... I just wish the judges heard him say it! It made perfect sense to me!

Re: the Cake Diva. I hear ya. You know, it makes me wonder, all those wonderful cakes in her shop, I wonder how much is actually done by her or the people the work for her. She does not show the rest of the world the kind of work she does at these competitions. And I just remembered, wasn't she the one that made that Carousel cake in the Birthday Cake Challenge? I think it almost fell apart on her.

I may be a little biased where Mike is concerned, seeing as to how his shop is in the same city that I live in icon_smile.gif. But his work truly is spectacular.

I will say--I'm from the Baltimore area--and while I think Chef Duff did a horrible job representing himself on the challenge, he has an impeccable reputation around here, both for his designs and his tastes.

I am almost wondering if something big happened and was edited out--it just doesnt make any sense that he only made that little boat, and he didnt even make the well. I have spoked to him a number of times, and I know that he does all of his work between himself and his one assistant...so he is truly talented, I just dont know what went wrong!

We are considering using him for our groomscake for our wedding...I will say I'm a bit nervous after that--but I know from my own experience some cakes are just destined to land on the floor, and you just have to pick yourself up and get another (better) one done in time for the client!
