My son's school is celebrating Reading Month throughout March. All month they are having fun activities and a reading contest. At the end of the month they are having a reading day pajama party. I would like to take cookies in that day, and want something to go along with the reading theme and/or pajama party. Any ideas? Thanks. Jodie

How about pj cookies and book cookies, maybe you could get the kids to tell you what their fav book is and you could write it on the books.

If its just for a class, you could make book cookies and put all the kids names on them like their own personal book.

If it's for a certain grade, or his class, find out what kinds of books they're into and do characters from them, maybe.

There are many books in "series" form that kids love...also, if it's for really young children, you can do characters from nursery rhymes or classic tales like "The 3 Little Pigs", etc.

Book cookies would be great if you really want to take cookies. The Wilton Book Pan would make a really neat cake for them too.

I like the book and PJ cookie idea. Kids love it when you personalize their cookies too! I did some personalized xmas stockings for the holidays and the kids LOVED seeing their name on the cookies!

Thank you, everyone, for the advice. I really like the idea of making book cookies, would you just make a rectangle cookie? How would you get the look of a book? If I go that route I would probably add their names to the cookies. For my son's birthday I took in big, round cookies with each child's name on one and they thought that was so cool!

Of course...now that Teekakes threw out the idea of the Wilton book pan...I do have that pan, my sister's MIL gave it to me and I haven't used it yet. They have been talking alot about Dr. Suess in class, so now I'm thinking maybe I'll do the cake, one side with a pic of Cat in the Hat, one side words from the story...

Now I really can't decide...I know I'm taking cookies for St. Patricks and probably Easter, cookies are my newest addiction...so maybe I should go with the cake....Decisions! Decisions!

Thanks for the great ideas! Jodie
