Is A Mmf Covered Cake Supposed To Be Chewy?

I'd never tasted a fondant covered cake before, but I decided to make one last week for my final Wilton course I cake. I think it turned out nice looking, and wasn't too hard to work with, but I was surprised at how pverly-sweet it was, and how chewy it was. Maybe not enough buttercream underneath the MMF? I used a thin crumb coat.

mmf is a bit chewy. I try to put a LOT of frosting under it, but somehow I feel like the fondant sucks it up. It nevers seems as though their is much under it when it is time to eat it.

Yep, its a little chewey, just like marshmallows! You can add flavoring to it though....any flavoring. Mint for a chocolate cake, almond for white, etc. thumbs_up.gif

Okay, at least I know I didn't make it wrong!

I'm playing around w/the leftovers trying to model little animals, but I must have too much crisco in it. My little piggy kind of melted into a blob! It's fun though.
