I've been asked to do a cake for a 50th birthday party (for a female) and I was hoping if all of you could share any ideas or pictures of cakes that you've done or seen. I'm looking to do something fun and whimsical but my thinking well has run dry. icon_cry.gif Any help you could offer would be GREATLY appreciated!!! icon_biggrin.gif

we had a luau party for my work and I made the luau girls that are in one of the wilton books. They were really cute and a big hit!

If you look in my photos, I have a picture of a roasted pig cake I made for a luau party I hosted.

ok, so putting together the two previous ideas..

here's the following..

sheet cake, w/ pig roasting in pit (yes, that's supposed to be a pig on its back in the pit). Pit cut into middle of cake and pig made out of fondant. and those squiggles around the pit are supposed to be the palm leaves they line the pits with (again, fondant)

Tikki torches are chocolates on sucker sticks.

and of course a hulu girl (wonder mold to the rescue). If I could have drawn a hulu guy (yep they do it to!!!) better yet one doing the fire dance (twirlling fire batons) I would have added that too...he'd probably have to be all fondant
