I live on an island and the humidity is horrible. Every time I make a cake, the icing never crusts, so I can't smooth it out. Are there any icing recipes that work in warm weather? Please, help! Thanks. icon_sad.gif

i live in the ohio river valley, and it gets really humid in the summers here. the only suggestion i have is using an all shortening buttercream. if you're already doing that, then i don't know what else to try.

look for a hight ratio crisco, that might help since it has a higher melting point.
