I am making a 3D bear on top of a 8 or 9 inch layer cake this next week and need a rough idea of what I should charge....I was thinking 50.00. Does that sound about right?

It kind of depends on your skill level and where you live...but I think this a reasonable price. I would go with the larger cake if you are doing a regular bear. It might not be well supported on the 8". You might want to do an even larger single layer.

For the bear alone, I would charge $35
For the cake alone, I would charge $25

Since both are coming together, I would take the total, $60, and deduct a bit, -$5. I come up with $55 being a fair price. Depending on where you live, $50 could be right too.

Have you thought of doing a 10x3 cake for the base? It might look nicer, I can't remember how big the bear is ...

Good luck!

Thanks for the info. I agree that the base needs to be bigger and I like the 10 x 3" idea.
