a while back, someone posted a great idea on how to slide their mixer across the counter. They put something under it so it would slide easily rather than breaking their back to drag it across since the little grippy feet work so well. I thougth it was a great idea at the time but now can't remember what it was and I can't find it. I got my new toy today - 1 6 qt KA (yaaaayyyy) - and that sucker is heavy! Just trying to remember what I can use to slide it rather than drag it. TIA

Are you talking about the furniture slider things they sell? If they let me know how they work I would love to be able to slide mine like that!

I put a piece of felt under it. Works great and is dirt cheap!

I put the easy-gliders on mine, the furniture slider thingys. I've moved my K-5 all over my counter with no scratching at all. icon_biggrin.gif

I use a vinyl place mat. I traced my 6qt pro KA, cut it out, turned it shiny side down, set my KA on it and slide it in and out as I need. Cheap, easy and easy to wipe off as needed. Also it can't be seen underneath.

I have the 6qt KA

and I also use a vinyl place mat
it is thick and shiny on both side
and slides in and out so easily and is easy to wipe off
I also bought a cover for it from KOHLS online
to protect it from dust, grease and kitchen debris when I'm not using it

Thanks everyone! I think it was the furniture sliders I had read about but I'll try the vinyl placemat first and see how that works out.
