Right now I am so thirsty for a glass of milk but I only have enough left to either drink it all gone or make a cake. I have decided to saccrifice my thirst to make a cake! lol I'll drink water instead.
What would you saccrifice to make a cake?

My day job! I've been known to call off work to make time for my baking (I get close to 10 weeks a year of paid-time-off). I'm lucky to have a very understanding boss that knows I'm really trying to get my baking business off the ground so that I can leave my position when he retires. I'm also lucky that I have a very flexible schedule and don't have to punch a time clock.
My marriage!
JUST KIDDING!!! lol

Sleep ("oh sure mom I can make that cake for TOMORROW"...actually most my cake baking is done between midnight and 6am, LOL)
Food (" I figure, I'll eat when Its all done!!!")
Going out (is it sad that I would rather make cake then go to a club
)
Sleep and a clean kitchen definitely rank at the top of my list. We're moving soon and we've seen a couple of houses that have two kitchens. I think my husband wants the second kitchen more than me!
He wants me out of our kitchen if at all possible! He says if there's a clean dish, spoon, pan etc. I use it. I don't think I'm that bad.
I said that b/c I spend nights in the kitchen with cakes. Once every other month or so, not often!
DH sighs on the way out of the kitchen and pouts himself to sleep.
He doesn't understand why I stay up all night decorating a cake. He always asks, "Now, tell me again. Why do you do this?" "Are we rich yet?"
Sleep ...for sure!! anyone that knows me and knows how much I love to sleep will know what a huge sacrifice this is for me .... My hubby can work through the night and doesn't mind ... the only thing I'll work through the night is cake decorating ![]()
Housework and a clean kitchen is at the top of my list, hanky-panky is next. Due to working nights at my full time job for almost 7 years, I'm up all night on my days off to so I get all my baking done then. I rarely have to sacrifice any sleep, I do that during the day while everyone else works. Hehe.
Edited to add:
Antonia74 - my DH has often wondered if he would get more if he started paying! LOL[/quote]
I'm with you VACakelady!!! I'm up all night on my nights off too. Plus I have a 24 hour Super WalMart. The night time is so much more peaceful and quiet.
I have a 24 hour one too, but it's a few miles further away than the one I usually go to. Just depends on how badly I need something.
