I got an Airmaster for Christmas, but I've only used it twice.

The first time, it worked beautifully. It was so easy to use, and I loved it.

Last night, the dye was beading up on the frosting. What was different?

My only theory here is that I made the first buttercream, and my husband made the second. My batch had less powdered sugar than his, and I sifted mine, which he didn't.

The first cake may also have been colder, but from what I've read so far, that should have caused more problems, not less!

Any thoughts?

the colour will bead or puddle on the surface when too much is applied at one time, you;ll need to spray thinnner coats but over and over. also if the iced cake came directly out of a fridge i suspect it would do the same.

I have similar issues sometimes. I find that it happens when I am spraying too high and too close to the cake. Its annoying.

Huh. Still not sure what the problem is since the airbrush stays on its lowest setting, and I was doing the same thing with the same colors both times. I guess there's more experimenting to be done!
