A Dough Press??

i am very jealous after watching sugar rush tonight on the food network...

i want one of those dough press things that rolls out the fondant to a thin layer in like 5 seconds...

does anyone know 1) what the technical name for it is and 2) WHERE I CAN GET ONE?

Can't you just use the pasta attachment for the KA?

I think what you are talking about is a sheeter (it rolls the dough big enough to cover a cake) Its very expensive a couple of thousand just for a cheap one. Way over my price range even when splurging.

You can buy used "tabletop sheeters" for $450+ at restaurant supply stores.

PS: They are used widely for rolling pizza dough, so if you know of any pizza joints going out of business, you might be able to get a deal.

I know what you mean.....even my husband has been impressed with those dough rollers (we saw one on a food network challenge). I told him he had all year to save up! icon_lol.gif

when I lived in NYC, some of the pizza places had a pizza press (see pic).
these will do up 18" across (would cover 10" round 4" high).
might work for fondant too.

now if we only spread fondant out the classic NYC way....tossing in the air! icon_confused.gif
