I just got an order for an Oscar themed cake...I did a search on the board and I found the movie-themed cakes that are really awesome--but I was kind of hoping that I could make a cake that looks like the actual Oscar statute....

Any ideas?

have you checked out "mike's amazing cakes" website? He has some awesome cakes on there. And a lot are inspired by Hollywood.

oh what a great find--thanks! Now I just need to make it huge enough for 150 people! Or maybe I will do 1 big Oscar cake, and make some mini cakes with movie themes...little popcorn boxes, ticket stubs...hmmm

Now I'm starting to feel like I might actually be able to do this!

I can see this cake.... with a statue on top. Maybe a plastic one from the party store.
