I have been unable to get a nice crust on my BC. I have been using a recipe from here called "Best Butter Cream Ever" and I love the taste and I have had nothing but compliments on it doesn't crust real well.I would like to try a smoothing method other than heating my knife and working it that way. icon_cry.gif I don't care much for doing it that way and I really want to try other methods.

I did notice on the recipe that it lists it as "nice light white icing of medium consistency". Do medium consistency icings not usually crust?

My other question is what is a good tasting AND good crusting recipe that you all use?

Thank you!

I have one more question on this subject......Can you overmix your ingredients?

Thanks again!

there isnt enough sugar in it to make it crust. You will need approx 1 cup of fat ingredients (crisco, butter) to approx 4 cups of powdered sugar to make it crust.
