Use Same Size Pearls On Each Tier?

I'm going to give a try at making fondant pearls. I wanted to know if I can use the same size pearl for each tier or do I need to make them smaller for the smaller sized tiers? They are 16, 12, 8 and 4 inch squares.
I think it depends on the look you want. I've done both ways and they look great. If you are putting a lot of pearls on each layer, you might want to put smaller pearls on the smaller layers, and larger pearls on the bigger layers. If the pearls are spread out a little more...use the same size.
