Hey all, I just thought I would post of what I learned at my last bridal show.

Samples and Pricing and Photo Album.

These are three most sought after things.

I just booked 6 weddings from a small bridal show I did, there was about 70 Brides that attended. So I figure that wasn't to bad. There was one other cake decorator there.

What I learned from my brides that booked with me is that the number one thing I had over the other decorator was that I had my pricing avialable to them. The other decorator kept telling people that prices vary, and they found that to vague.

I had put together in bags for the brides to take home, a cake sample in a 2oz dixies cup lidded. my brochure of what i offer and a pricing sheet with flavors and a business card. Each bride I booked with said it was great cause they got to let groom sample and they could some what figure what there estimate cost would be. This I think was my biggest selling point and will do this from now on. Plus with everything in one bag they did not mix it up with other literature. Each sample bag probably cost me less than $1.00 to make. I hit the after Valentines sale and got the goodie bags for .25 were $2.88 each for 20 bags. Only one person commented that is was a valentine design. (was just a pink and red heart bag desinged bag the size of the small lunch sack brown bags.)

Also having someone cut the cake, let me be available to talk with people. One thing I will do next year is have a sign up sheet for those who would like to be contacted if I didn't get a chance to talk with them.

I also did a power point show so those waiting to see the photo album could watch. Many comments on that also.

Please others post ideas or comments, cause I think the more prepared that you go into a bridal show the better the business you can drum up.

This bridal show only cost me $75 to be in and after the great reception I had I think I may spring for one of the bigger shows in the area that are more like $400 to be in.

Hope this helps some of those looking at being part of a bridal show

Nikki
