How Much Batter Into 8" Pans?

I have not made a 8" cake in so long!!!

I make the 8" rounds. I use doctored cake mixes and use a third of the batter for each 8"round. That way I don't have to tort them. You can also use half the batter per round.

Oops, as for "cups"? I'm thinking probably 2 1/2 to 3 cups of batter?

I use 4 8" pans to make a 4 layer cake...and put 1 1/2 c. of batter into each pan. Makes a nice sized cake :O)
