I treated myself to a new computer that has MS Vista. For some reason Kopykake is not working with this program.
I've contacted Kopykake and they are working on the problem. Just thought I would mention it in case anyone else runs into the same issues.
Thanks for the info. I was thinking about getting a printer soon. I just got a new laptop with Vista on it. Being a IT nerd
I have read alot about it and Vista is definatley a work in process-
Thats funny. I hooked up my printer just awhile ago to my vista computer, and it won't work either. Just thought it was me hooking it up wrong. Now I know. Thanks for the tip.
This is why I don't like getting a program that is so brand new that they don't have all the major kinks worked out of it yet.
At work we use Citrix to remote desktop into work and Vista doesn't support it yet and won't put a fix in their OS until Summer of 2007! ![]()
My mom recently bought a computer with vista and her printer wouldn't work either (Lexmark). I went to their website and was able to download a patch so that it would work along with the disc that they gave you. Maybe that would work for some of you too.
I bought new pc (Vista) and while I was at it, a new Epson RX580. I ran the software just like I have in the past when adding a new scanner/printer....nada, Vista had a compatibility problem, went to Epson's site, had to download the drivers for vista, drivers on disk that came with printer were not compatible. Just go to your printers website and check to see if they have the appropriate drivers before you download your old printer disk.
The thing that annoys me is that you can't get them to take Vista out and put XP in when they make the darn thing. For some reason when something new comes out they stick with that and won't load in an "older" program.
Must be something about the deals they make with Microsoft.
For anyone who is in the computer market it is advised by most "geeks" that it will take more than one year to work out the bugs. Microsoft is known for this kind of thing. They throw it out there and sometimes let better minds bring back the answers to repairs they needed.
If you are just going to load the Vista program on your reg. computer at home done't bother. You will give yourself headaches. Basically all vista does is increase the memory but it uses the same or similar applications from earlier microsoft products. It will not run at all for anything older than XP to if you have any older windows programs you are SOL.
Unless you really need it, wait. Microsoft always gets it corrected later on in its life. Otherwise you are going to have to patch just about everything.
