I have an order for a Thomas the Train cake this weekend. I am making it a 3-d cake, but I'm not 100% decided on how to put it togehter. I was thinking of stacking some rounds and laying them on their side. Then I would cut some pieces from a sheet cake to make the rest. Does anyone have any other ideas? TIA for all of your help!

I was going to say the same thing!! I made my first Thomas cake over the weekend and that tutorial was heaven-scent, I was able to actually make Thomas's face look like Thomas's face...I am horrible at molding things! Definetly check it out!

There you are! I have been trying to remember your member name, and all I could remember was your avatar, which doesn't help in searching for you! Thank you sooo much, your tutorial was great! I have done lots of carvings, but it was great to have it all laid out in front of me, and the molding of Thomas's face was priceless for me! That was the part I was sooo worried about, and it actually looks like Thomas! Thank you, thank you! Here is my pic!
