My Great Grandmother had a glass butter churn with a wooden paddle inside and cast iron crank on top of the screw on lid called the Dazey. When my Grandmother passed away I got it. While my cousins and I were separating her kitchen items they found a wooden handle press/stamp for the butter. It has a floral design. I am wondering if this stamp would work for cookies. I have little experience with cookie techniques. Then again, I'm thinking I would hate to ruin it since it is dear to my heart. What do you think?
Hi Strazle,
Lucky girl, if it's the same type of stamp I am thinking of (father has one) you can probably use it on the cookies. Those stamps are rare and hard to find anymore. I would be too afraid to use it myself but I would be curious enough to see if it works, if only that one time and never use it again.
Good luck, if you actually use the stamp, post it here. I would love to see it.

Strazle,
Why don't you try some of that silicone molding stuff to make an impression of it and then make a mold of the impression it would make...
That way you can have the original without a chance of damaging it and still be able to duplicate the design in honor of her wonderful memory.
just a thought, I hope this helps. ![]()

Well, you know, that had not even come to mind but that is a great option.
