**Not sure if I needed to post this in the Lounge or not, so if it needs to be moved, that's ok.

Can Hummus be made without Tahini paste? I have everything I need except tahini...lol. Any advice is appreciated! TIA icon_smile.gif

Have you got sesame oil? Not sure, but that could provide some of the same flavour at least..

The tahini paste (grinded sesame seeds) is what makes the hummus.
I don't think it would be the same without it.

That's what I thought, too! lol I just was asked to make some and realized (after I said yes) that I had everything but Tahini...ran out icon_sad.gif But I made it anyway, for DH and one of our employees...used a few drops of sesame oil (that stuff can make my stomach turn if I use too much of it). It gave a hint of roasted sesames....but nothing like the flavor Tanini imparts. But they actually said it was better than what they have at the Greek restaraunt they go to for lunch a lot. Go figure!! lol icon_rolleyes.gif I, on the other hand, didn't think it even compared. Guess that's men for ya...lol. icon_razz.gif

Another thing I use if I am out of tahini paste, is peanut butter! Try it - works in a pinch. My kids actually prefer it that way now.
