hey everyone, I am about to try and make my first fondant loop bow for a cake topper. I found the article telling how to make the bow but it does not tell how long/wide to cut each strip. It tells how thick but I am not sure what is needed. Any suggestions please? thanks all

I think it just depends on how wide you want them.....I have made several of them and I did them different everytime. If I would have to guess I would say mine usually are about an inch or so wide.

Yes, mine are about 1" wide and the length depends on how big you want them. When I place the bow on a 6" round cake, I cut them into 6" long strips so when you form the loop it's about 3". You can also vary the width if you prefer.

I make my loops about 1" also. The length is usually 6-7" long. I also make a few smaller width ones to stick in randomly in the bow.
There's no "right" or "wrong" way just what ever style you like. thumbs_up.gif

Oh yes I forgot that part. My outside loops are larger and as I layer the loops I cut them about an inch shorter.
